Forgive me for taking so long to get in touch about the reunion.I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's news in all the emails shooting around. You've done an amazing job getting everyone fired up for the weekend and I just wish I could be there but unfortunately my husband Charles and I are going to a family wedding in Florence, Italy. We are leaving tomorrow and making a bit of a holiday of it with a stop over in Paris. The actual wedding is in Fiesole in the hills above Florence on Saturday but I'll be thinking of you all having a fantastic time back at SG.
Can you remember the strange English girl who appeared for the last 5 months of your Senior year??- you know the one who has been useless over the years at staying in touch but has never forgotten that amazing experience, and the kindness and friendship you all gave me during that special time.I had a ball at SG and would have loved to have shared some of those memories with you this weekend.
I would love to get back in touch again with all you guys - a special hi to You, Martha, Kim, Carol, Claire, Paula and Fred, Haluk, Stan,Jon and Charlie.
I'm still playing tennis I'm a PTR coach and have been coaching in junior schools and a junior LTA performance centre. It fitted in with family so I took it up after I gave up my job in marketing at an electronics company. I have three boys-all grown (25,24 and 21),but still one at university, all sports mad especially field hockey which is a major mens sport here. The youngest Henry is a keen golfer.
We live in Tonbridge, Kent not far from London and within striking distance of the Olympic Park- if anyone is planning to come over for the Olympics in 2012 come look me up. We have an open house planned-we've got some French friends coming over and there is the added attraction of some teams including the Aussie track team who will be training at my sons's former school Tonbridge School which has amazing facilities- its a two minute walk from us.
Its great I have all your e mail addresses and hopefully when I get back I'll send some pictures- and some more news- If anyone contacts me I promise to do better than the last 35 years!!! I do at least go to SG functions in London. Glad to see SG in fantastic hands of headmaster Eric P- he gave impressive speech at the last one recently.I asked him to send my love to the Zanes- I send it again and to any other faculty who remember me!! I was so sad to hear of Gil Burnett's passing- he was a lovely man and looked after me so well even if he thought I was a wimp when I ran out on him dissecting a frog! I was even more sad to hear about Anita- such a beautiful girl as I remember, though I didn't know her well. I'm sure you will have a special time to remember her this weekend.
Have a fantastic time and I promise to try very hard, God willing, to make 2016.
All the best,
Love Jo xx
